グループ名の語源はSunflower Of Rainbowを略してSOR、これをアルファベット読みをベースに日本語風に読んでいます。意味は日本語で虹の向日葵となり、「希望に満ちた明るい未来」や「夢に向かってまっすぐ進む姿」 、「特別な存在」や「唯一無二の輝き」 というメッセージ性を含んでいます。
